Reconnecting with Yourself Through Mind, Body, and Emotion

Over the years, through my own healing journey and by supporting clients, I have come to understand that healing doesn't happen solely in the mind. Sometimes we can understand exactly why we feel the way we do, yet still find ourselves carrying anxiety, tension, overwhelm, or emotional pain within the body. This is where Somatic Resilience Therapy can offer something different.

My approach recognises that our thoughts, emotions, physical sensations, and life experiences are deeply interconnected. Rather than focusing solely on what has happened, somatic therapy gently invites the body into the healing process, helping you reconnect with the wisdom, signals, and resilience already within you.

Why Work with the Body?

Our bodies hold our experiences. Stress, trauma, grief, anxiety, burnout, and even everyday pressures can become stored within the nervous system. Over time, this may show up as physical tension, emotional overwhelm, chronic stress, feeling disconnected from yourself, or a sense of being stuck despite understanding your challenges intellectually.

How Somatic Therapy Differs from Traditional Talking Therapy

Traditional counselling and psychotherapy primarily work through conversation. They help us explore thoughts, beliefs, behaviours, and experiences, offering valuable insight and understanding. Somatic therapy includes this reflective process but goes a step further by exploring how those experiences live within the body.

Rather than only asking:

"What are you thinking or feeling?"

I may also gently invite you to explore:

"Where do you notice that in your body?"

"What happens when you stay with that sensation?"

"What is your body trying to communicate?"

This deeper awareness often creates powerful opportunities for healing that words alone may not fully access.

My work is grounded in compassion, nervous system awareness, and trauma-informed practice. Every session is tailored to your individual needs, comfort level, and readiness. There is never any pressure to relive difficult experiences or push beyond your boundaries. Healing unfolds at your pace.
