Sometimes our emotions can feel stuck.

You may find yourself caught in cycles of anxiety, overwhelm, self-doubt, grief, trauma responses, or emotional patterns that seem difficult to shift, even when you understand them logically. EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), often known as tapping, is one of the approaches I may integrate into our work together to help support emotional regulation, reduce distress, and create space for healing. EFT combines elements of modern psychology with gentle tapping on specific acupressure points on the body. While focusing on a thought, feeling, memory, or physical sensation, the tapping process can help calm the nervous system, reduce emotional intensity, and support the processing of difficult experiences.

As someone who works holistically and somatically, I see EFT as another way of listening to the body's wisdom. Often, emotional experiences are held not only in our thoughts but within our nervous system and physical body. Tapping can help create a sense of safety and regulation, allowing emotions to be explored and processed more gently.

How EFT May Help

EFT can be beneficial for a wide range of experiences, including:

  • Anxiety and stress
  • Emotional overwhelm
  • Low self-esteem and confidence issues
  • Trauma and difficult life experiences
  • Grief and loss
  • Phobias and fears
  • Relationship challenges
  • Emotional eating and unwanted habits
  • Chronic stress and nervous system dysregulation

Many clients find EFT helpful because it provides a practical tool they can continue using between sessions, supporting emotional resilience and self-regulation in everyday life.

A Gentle, Client-Centred Approach

There is no "right way" to experience EFT. Some people notice immediate shifts, while for others the process is more gradual. Sessions are always tailored to your individual needs, and we work at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you. I may use EFT as a standalone intervention or integrate it alongside counselling, clinical hypnotherapy, somatic therapy, breathwork, IEMT, creative approaches, and nervous system-informed practices. My role is not to force change, but to support you in exploring what is happening with curiosity, compassion, and understanding. Together, we create space for emotional healing, greater self-awareness, and lasting change.

What to Expect

During an EFT session, I will guide you through a gentle tapping sequence while we explore the emotions, thoughts, beliefs, or experiences you would like support with. You remain fully present and in control throughout the process. Many clients share feeling calmer, lighter, more grounded, and better able to respond to challenges after tapping. Over time, EFT can help reduce emotional reactivity, increase self-awareness, and support a greater sense of balance and well-being.

Is EFT Right for Me?

EFT can be particularly helpful if you:

  • Feel stuck in recurring emotional patterns
  • Experience anxiety, stress, or overwhelm
  • Carry unresolved grief or trauma
  • Struggle with self-criticism or limiting beliefs
  • Want practical tools to support emotional well-being
  • Are you looking for a gentle, body-aware approach to healing

If you're curious about EFT, we can explore together whether it's a good fit for your needs. Every therapeutic journey is unique, and we will always work in a way that honours your individual experiences, goals, and pace. Healing doesn't happen by forcing emotions away. It happens through creating enough safety, awareness, and compassion to meet them differently. EFT can be one of many tools that supports that journey.
