Specialisations and Areas of Expertise

In addition to broad mental health support, Phiona specialises in:

  • Bereavement & grief support, including animal bereavement. Grief can feel overwhelming, confusing, and deeply personal. You may be struggling with the loss of a loved one or a beloved pet and finding it hard to process your emotions. Phiona offers a calm, supportive space where you can begin to gently explore your grief, honour your loss, and find your own way towards healing, at your own pace.

  • Trauma and PTSD, using trauma-informed approaches. Trauma can affect how you think, feel, and experience the world, sometimes long after the event has passed. Phiona offers trauma-informed therapy, creating a safe and supportive space where you are never rushed or pushed. Through counselling, hypnotherapy and somatic-based approaches, you can begin to process experiences safely, reduce overwhelm, and feel more grounded and in control. Sometimes what we’re holding doesn’t live in words; it lives in the body. Phiona integrates somatic therapy and hypnotherapy to help you connect with your body’s wisdom, gently release stored tension, and process emotions that may feel difficult to access through talking alone. This approach can be especially helpful for:
  • Trauma and stress
  • Anxiety and nervous system dysregulation
  • Chronic tension or fatigue
  • Feeling disconnected from yourself

  • Neurodiversity support, including ADHD, autism, dyslexia, dyspraxia, RSD, PDA, sensory processing,  late-diagnosis adults, and neurodivergent children. Sessions are adapted to your needs, helping you better understand yourself, reduce overwhelm, and work with your strengths rather than against them. Phiona is also a Hampshire and Isle of Wight Autism Ambassador, bringing additional understanding, advocacy, and insight into her work with neurodivergent individuals and families.

  • Chronic illness and hidden disabilities: Chronic pain conditions (fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome / ME)  Autoimmune diseases (lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis) Digestive disorders (IBS, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, celiac disease) Endocrine/hormonal disorders (thyroid disorders, diabetes, adrenal insufficiency)

  • Children and young people counselling, Children and young people don’t always have the words to express how they feel. Phiona works in a gentle, age-appropriate way to support young clients with: a variety of emotional, social, and developmental challenges. This includes anxiety, low mood, stress, anger, or difficulties managing emotions, as well as support following trauma, bereavement, parental separation, bullying, or other adverse experiences. Therapy can also help neurodivergent children, including those with ADHD, autism, or sensory processing difficulties, build confidence, self-esteem, and resilience. Additional support may be needed for life transitions, school changes, chronic illness, or family stress, as well as for exploring identity, self-expression, or behavioural and social challenges, such as peer conflict or school refusal. Using child counselling, hypnotherapy, somatic therapy, breathwork, and creative interventions, therapy provides a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for children and young people to process emotions, develop coping strategies, and thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

  • Relationship and couples therapy Phiona offers couples and relationship counselling in Havant, Hampshire, providing a safe and supportive space for partners to improve communication, resolve conflict, and rebuild trust. Using evidence-based counselling, somatic therapy, and creative approaches, sessions help couples navigate challenges such as relationship breakdown, intimacy issues, anxiety, stress, or life transitions. Therapy is tailored to each couple’s unique needs, helping partners strengthen their connection, improve understanding, and create a healthier, more fulfilling relationship.

  • Stress, anxiety, depression, OCD, and other emotional challenges

Phiona also incorporates creative counselling, breathwork, EFT, and somatic techniques to support self-discovery, healing, and long-term transformation. Addressing the Mind-Body Connection
