Sometimes we understand why we feel the way we do, yet despite our best efforts, the same thoughts, emotions, behaviours, or patterns continue to show up. You may find yourself struggling with anxiety, stress, low confidence, unwanted habits, fears, overwhelm, or emotional responses that seem difficult to change. Clinical hypnotherapy can help you access the deeper layers of the mind where many of these patterns originate, creating opportunities for meaningful and lasting change. As a qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist, I use hypnotherapy as part of a holistic, client-centred approach to emotional wellbeing. Sessions are tailored to your individual needs and may be integrated alongside other therapeutic approaches.

My aim is not to "fix" you, but to help you better understand yourself, reconnect with your inner resources, and create the conditions for healing, growth, and change.

What Is Clinical Hypnotherapy?

Clinical hypnotherapy is a gentle therapeutic approach that works with the subconscious mind,  the part of us that stores memories, beliefs, learned responses, habits, and emotional patterns. Many of the ways we think, feel, and respond to life's challenges are influenced by subconscious processes developed over the course of our lives. Sometimes these patterns continue to serve us, but at other times they can keep us feeling stuck, anxious, overwhelmed, or disconnected.

Hypnotherapy uses focused relaxation and guided therapeutic techniques to access this deeper level of awareness, allowing positive change to occur in a safe and supportive way. Despite common misconceptions, hypnosis is not about losing control. You remain aware, present, and able to stop the process at any time. Most clients describe it as feeling deeply relaxed, focused, and absorbed in the experience.

How Hypnotherapy Can Help

Clinical hypnotherapy may be helpful for a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges, including:

  • Anxiety and chronic worry
  • Stress and burnout
  • Low confidence and self-esteem
  • Panic attacks
  • Fears and phobias
  • Sleep difficulties
  • Trauma-related responses
  • Emotional overwhelm
  • Unhelpful habits and behaviours
  • Motivation and performance
  • Exam anxiety
  • Chronic stress and nervous system dysregulation

Many clients also find hypnotherapy helpful when navigating life transitions, grief, relationship difficulties, chronic illness, and periods of uncertainty or change.

Working with the Mind-Body Connection

My approach to hypnotherapy is informed by counselling, somatic therapy, and nervous system awareness. I recognise that experiences are often held not only in our thoughts but within our bodies. This means that lasting change often happens when we work with both the conscious and subconscious mind while paying attention to how the body responds. Alongside guided hypnosis, I may incorporate breathwork, relaxation techniques, body awareness, imagery, and nervous system regulation strategies to support a deeper sense of safety, connection, and well-being. By working holistically, we can begin to shift patterns at their roots rather than simply managing symptoms.

What to Expect

Each session is tailored to you and your goals. We begin by exploring what has brought you to therapy, gaining an understanding of your experiences, challenges, and what you would like to achieve. Together, we create a therapeutic approach that feels supportive and appropriate for your needs. During hypnosis, you will be guided into a relaxed state where your mind becomes more receptive to therapeutic exploration and positive change. Many clients find this experience deeply calming and restorative. Following the session, there is time for reflection and integration, helping you make sense of the experience and apply any insights to your daily life.

A Safe and Supportive Space

Clients often describe my approach as warm, compassionate, and calming. I believe therapy works best when you feel safe, respected, and able to move at your own pace. Whether you are seeking support for anxiety, confidence, trauma, grief, stress, chronic illness, neurodivergent challenges, or personal growth, I will work alongside you to create a therapeutic experience that honours your individual needs and experiences. My work is grounded in professional ethics, ongoing training, and a commitment to providing safe, evidence-informed, and compassionate support.

Is Hypnotherapy Right for Me?

Hypnotherapy can be beneficial for many people, whether used as a standalone approach or alongside counselling and other therapies. If you are curious about how hypnotherapy may support you, I offer an initial consultation to explore your goals, answer any questions, and discuss the most appropriate approach for your individual needs.

You do not need to have everything figured out before you begin. Sometimes the first step towards change is simply giving yourself permission to pause, be heard, and explore a different way forward.
