Grounding: Grounding Techniques for Stability and Presence in Breathwork
This session explores grounding as a foundational practice within therapeutic work. Attendees will learn techniques to cultivate physical, emotional, and energetic stability, enabling them to conduct safer and more effective sessions. We will examine the role of the nervous system, introduce sensory and body-based grounding strategies, and provide practical exercises for both personal and professional use.
Breath Awareness: The Power of Noticing: Cultivating Breath Awareness
Breath awareness is the gateway to deeper somatic and emotional intelligence. This session focuses on the subtle art of observing the breath without manipulation. Attendees will explore how conscious attention to breath fosters presence, insight, and self-regulation. Practical techniques and reflective exercises will help integrate breath awareness into therapeutic, coaching, or wellness contexts.
Belly Breathing: Returning to the Belly: Foundations of Relaxed Breathing
In this session, participants will learn the principles and practice of belly breathing, a core technique for downregulating the nervous system and enhancing parasympathetic activity. We’ll explore common barriers to belly breathing, how to support clients in reconnecting with this natural rhythm, and how it can be used as a tool for emotional and physiological balance.
Neurodiversity: : Neurodivergent Considerations
Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all approach. This session addresses the nuanced needs of neurodivergent individuals and the contexts that shape somatic and body awareness. Attendees will explore inclusive language, sensory accommodations, and sensitive frameworks to ensure breathwork practices honour diversity and foster psychological safety.
Language, and therapeutic work: Words that support: The Interplay of Language and Healing
How we speak about emotions deeply influences how they are experienced. This session explores the linguistic aspects of guiding embodied Somatic work, from instructional clarity to the therapeutic use of metaphor and suggestion. Participants will explore how tone, pacing, and verbal cues can influence breath awareness and enhance client engagement.
Trauma-Informed Therapy: Safety First: A Trauma-Informed Approach to Therapy
This session provides a comprehensive introduction to trauma-informed principles in client facilitation. Participants will learn how to create safe, choice-oriented environments, recognise signs of dysregulation, and avoid common triggers. We’ll explore modifications to traditional techniques to support resilience, autonomy, and healing in trauma-impacted clients.
Movement, Somatics and Breathwork: Breath in Motion: Integrating Somatic Movement and Breathwork
This experiential session explores the powerful relationship between movement, somatic awareness, and breath. Attendees will learn how gentle movement practices can enhance breath capacity, release tension, and support emotional processing. The session will include guided exercises and frameworks for combining somatic techniques with breathwork in therapeutic or group settings.
