Childrens Wellbeing

As  a Hypno4Children™  Accredited practitioner, I have furthered my training to be able to deeply support the emotions and behaviours of young children, adolescent and teens with age appropriate strategies and techniques to support, empower and bring confidence to their mindset and wellbeing.

Children of all ages can struggle with their emotions and feelings, not yet having the tools to help support them to be able to understand , process or move through in a positive and structured way. This can lead to behavioural problems,  friendship issues, school complexities, home life being disrupted and challenging, building stress, anxiety and a negative environment.

Sessions are designed for your child’s individual needs and start from 30 minutes up to 60 minute sessions depending on age.  Sessions can be online or face - face.

Phiona is an Accredited Practitioner with Hypno4Children™   and is listed upon their practitioner page

How does it work?

Children of all ages can struggle with their emotions and feelings, not yet having the tools to help support them to be able to understand , process or move through in a positive and structured way. This can lead to behavioural problems,  friendship issues, school complexities, home life being disrupted and challenging, building stress, anxiety and a negative environment.

Sessions are designed for your child’s individual needs and start from 30 minutes up to 60 minute sessions depending on age.  I would always advise for a free insight call initially to discover how I can support you and your young person, and that I am the right fit for you.

I work in person from my private practice in Havant or online for further afield clients. Online works best for children over 10 years of age.

There are many reasons for seeking support and help with your child’s needs, below is a list of the most usual reasons for coming to therapy, however there is always something that may differ. If you are unsure do get into contact with me to discuss in more detail.

School Related Issues

School can be a harrowing time for a young person, filled with pitfalls of not only overcoming the obstacles of growing up and maturing, but those of relationships and the stress and anxiety that schools holds. The complications of the needs to succeed, be a top performer, to be progressive and in some cases popular can place untold demands on a young persons life. Add on top of that the pressures of exams whether it is SAT’s, GCSE’s, A levels, or college exams, the pressure upon the young mind can be intense. Clinical Hypnotherapy can help support the young person at a most vulnerable time during their school years and especially if they find it a struggle academically or socially. Enabling a grounded and balanced viewpoint with strategies in place to support the young mind and being. Phiona Holds an Enhanced DBS and offers bespoke sessions to the young persons needs.

Exam Stress

Exam stress can take its toll on not only the mind but the body also, we face many exams in life, not only at school and college, but when learning to drive, in training, education, work placed exams, and performance related exams. This stress can place unnecessary stress upon the self and can bring about a dysreglation of the body and mind. With effects such as loss of sleep, lack of focus and concentration, loss of appetite, skin issues, weight problems, high anxiety, panic and forgetfulness. Manifesting as stress the body struggle to assimilate new information whilst it tries to regulate itself. Clinical Hypnotherapy can help to ease the stress and anxiety and elicit strategies for the exams themselves. With positive results resulting in a calmer outlook, a more relaxed mind and overcoming the fear or worry of exams.

Confidance and Self Esteem

Confidence and self esteem go hand in hand and are at opposites ends of the seesaw, whilst some children appear to have confidence in bucket loads others seem to struggle. With confidence we often find self esteem also, they are bookends to one another, as such being low in one with also be low in the other. Yet both can be boosted and maintained with Clinical Hypnotherapy and the mindset adjusted to be more reciprocal to a more positive outlook. Boosting not only self esteem and the issues it may bring along with it, but the confidence to do the things you wish to do and try. Living the life of your dreams instead of those that are unfulfilled and abandoned due to not feeling confident enough. Sometimes these are born in childhood or lack of self esteem may come from being in abusive relationship, being bullied at some point in your life or lacking in the nourishment of the self.
